Wonderful Korean food at low prices, cooked fresh to order in a friendly casual venue. Had the jajang noodles with fried chili sauce, and was immediately impressed by the chewy home made noodles and aromatic sauce. Portion was enormous. The fried pork is fluffy and comes with a unique dipping sauce, bright and acidic, keeps you eating! I highly recommend.

This is the perfect place to hit up if you’re like me and experience intense, borderline violent jajangmyeon cravings. Sometimes you just need a big, comforting bowl of chewy noodles covered in rich black bean sauce, and this spot absolutely delivers. Their jajangmyeon is done just right. The sauce is savory, hearty, and satisfying without feeling too heavy, and the noodles have that perfect chewy texture that makes the whole dish so comforting. The portion size is also massive, so you could definitely share one order between two people—although I completely understand wanting one all to yourself. I also tried their fried chicken, which was decent, but it wasn’t the standout for me. It was fine as a side, but compared to the noodles, it didn’t feel like something I’d go out of my way to order again. Next time, I’d probably skip the chicken and focus on what they’re clearly known for: their noodle dishes. Overall, this is a great spot when you’re craving classic, satisfying Korean comfort food. I’d definitely come back for the jajangmyeon and would recommend it to anyone looking for a generous, flavorful bowl of noodles.

Gangnam Jajang is the real deal!!! I am used to Korean-Chinese as a Korean who used to eat jajngmyeon (black bean noodles) and tang soo yook as a kid. I started with the iced tea with mango cubes - refreshing, not too sweet, and the large mango cubes at the top were a nice touch. They even had a frozen bear on the top. The wool-myeon and the chili oil black bean noodles stood out. The wool myeoj noodles have a silky texture with super generous portions with fresh seafood. The chili oil black bean noodles had a savoy jajang base with a kick of heat. The chili oil adds fragrance and makes the noodles super addictive. The tang soo yook was crispy but chewy on the inside. Definitely recommend this as an appetizer. The portions are generous based on the price point and the servers were very attentive too! If you’re anywhere near Oakland and craving Korean-Chinese, do yourself a favor and check it out.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. Only star is for the busy waitress. The first time I came for lunch, the food was quite good, so I decided to bring my friends here for dinner. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a huge letdown. The fried chicken was extremely dry, tough, and chewy. Every piece seemed to be from strange parts of the chicken — none of the chicken legs shown on the menu were in my dish. The frying also tasted off. The noodles were mediocre at best, and the seafood ramen tasted just like instant Shin Ramen. The crab meat inside was mushy and clearly not fresh. I strongly suspect the ingredients were not fresh, and the preparation was strange. I’m not sure if it was the ice or the water, but the next day I suffered from severe diarrhea. All four of us who ate here that night had stomach issues and diarrhea. This experience was bad enough that I will never return. Please cherish your health and consider going somewhere else.

We had a great experience at GangNam Jjajang! We ordered the jajangmyeon, jjambbong, jjambbong-jajang combo, shrimp fried rice, and sweet and sour pork (small), and everything was satisfying. The jajangmyeon had a rich and savory black bean sauce that was perfectly balanced, and the noodles were chewy and well-cooked. The jjambbong was full of flavor with a deep, spicy broth and generous seafood, making it very comforting. The shrimp fried rice was light yet flavorful, with nicely cooked rice and plenty of shrimp. The sweet and sour pork was crispy on the outside and tender inside, with a sauce that wasn’t overly sweet, which we really appreciated. Overall, the portions were generous, the food came out quickly, and everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. We would definitely come back again!
